Is the Hopi Indians prophecy the key to the end of days?

The Hopi Indians are a diverse group representing many different clans from different areas with a culture that dates back to around the 15th century. They have settled primarily in the northeastern part of Arizona near the "Four Corners" of America. Much of the Hopi Reservation is surrounded by the much larger Navajo Reservation.

Their name is derived from the "Hopituh Shi-nu-mu" meaning "the peaceful people." The Hopis are anti-war. Their culture taught total reverence of all things, respect and peace with all things, and to live in harmony while practicing the instructions of the Creator of Earth. Their spirituality and religion were very similar to that of Christianity before even the arrival of missionaries. To this day, they still observe many of their traditional ceremonies. These ceremonies take place according to the lunar calendar and are observed in each of the Hopi villages.

So, what does the end of days have to do with the "peaceful people?"

Through the centuries, Hopi Elders have passed prophecies and warnings from one generation to another orally and through pictures, one notably called the Prophecy Rock. The Hopi Indians believed that with the coming of every "new world" there will great cleansing and purification. We are currently in the 4th world. The prophecy rock tells us to choose a path and the path that we choose will determine the intensity of the purification. It is prophecized that with the coming of the "fifth world" there will be great purification, because almost all of the nine signs that have been fulfilled. The ninth sign discusses the appearance of a blue star, in which after the appearance, all the ceremonies will cease.

Could this blue star refer to the impending supernova of Betelgeuse?

Betelgeuse is located in the Orion Constellation, about 600 light-years away from Earth. Betelgeuse has been shrinking over time (at an alarming rate), indicating a possible supernova, which could occur in 2012 or another thousand years. The rate at which Betelgeuse are baffling scientiest as to how soon the star may go supernova.

Although Betelgeuse is a "red super giant star" it has pretty close similarities to the Hopi Indians prophecy. When Betelgeuse goes supernova, the impending blast wave may have a significant effect on Earth. Just like all other theories, there are always other theories that contradict. On one side, the Earth will not be affected and the other says it will. It's also like trying to predict the weather, the only time we'll actually know it's going to rain, is when the rain is actually falling upon us.

Another interpretation of the "blue star" refers to the US Space Station Skylab, which fell to Earth in 1979. Many witnesses claim that as it fell into the atmosphere, it had a blue glow. If that is the case, then all of the nine signs are fulfilled and we are just awaiting the coming of the end of days.

The other signs are considered fulfilled, with the following interpretations:

The First Sign is of the discovery of a new world and men with guns.

The Second Sign is of the pioneers and covered wagons expanding to the new fronier.

The Third Sign is of longhorn cattle herded by frontiersmen.

The Fourth Sign describes the railroad tracks being built.

The Fifth Sign is a clear image of our electric power, telephone lines, and the internet.

The Sixth Sign describes the construction of highways.

The Seventh Sign foretells of oil spills in the ocean.

The Eighth Sign clearly indicates the "Hippy Movement" of the 1960s.

The Hopi Indians are a peaceful group with very strong convictions and they've hit the target every time. Will their prophecy of the end of days be a bulls-eye? Only time will tell.

Cheers!

Jason
