Apocalypse prophecy: Did Edgar Cayce predict the end of the world?
Edgar Cayce is probably the most documented and sought after psychic of the 20th century. He was born during the late 1800's in Kentucky and began to show signs of psychic ability at an early age. Throughout his life he was dedicated to helping others and eventually set up a non-profit organization to enhance and continue his mission.
Edgar made a vast number of readings, most of which are evidently documented. In all there are supposedly over 14,000 of these documented readings that are said to cover over 10,000 topics.
His method was making his readings during a sleep like meditation where he connected with the "super consciousness". While connected he would tap the knowledge and bring it forth into our world during his readings.

While this might seem a little odd, there were (and are) thousands of people who have believed in his abilities. Men of major business sought him for his insights into business decisions. People of all walks of life sought him for his ability to make medical diagnoses and prescribe holistic cures. He is attributed to many a person's cure from medical afflictions... One story has him diagnosing himself and then going on to cure is ailment using simple household goods.
He formed the non-profit "Association for Research and Enlightenment" (A.R.E.). The international headquarters are located in Virginia and is represented in 37 countries with members in over 70 countries across the world.
So, what did Mr. Cayce say about the end of the world?
Well...not much in the way of an "apocalypse". His readings and predictions pointed more towards a shifting of conscious thought. He evidently believed that there is an approaching change in the way the world thinks.
Did Edgar Cayce speak about 2012?

The year 2012 is decidedly absent from his readings however he did mention some interesting things about our present times. Among them is the discussions about the records left behind the people of Atlantis just before the demise of the city. He talks about three "Halls of Records" being established with a complete documentation of the Atlantian civilization. One of these is supposedly located at the feet of the Sphinx in Egypt that is not accessible via the currently known passages. (it is said that a chamber has been identified via sonar that is unreachable currently).
When we are ready, says Edgar, we will gain access to these records and will then become enlightened through them.
So, while he is renown for his accuracy and insights, his major predictions centered on a change in consciousness. In another reading he did mention a change in magnetic poles on the Earth...one that would become evident around this time right now. (scarily enough scientists have discovered that magnetic pole changes have happened before and are now tracking magnetic anomalies near the equator!)
Learning about Edgar Cayce can be a consuming endeavor. The sheer number of his "readings" and the established A.R.E. there is an abundance of information. Try a Google search and have fun!
