Armageddon The MovieThe movie Armageddon was released mid- 1998. It stars Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler, Will Patton, Steve Buscemi, Owen Wilson, Michael Clarke Duncan and many more. It was directed by Michael Bay and released by Touchstone Pictures.
OK, it is very clear to Jason and I that this is one of our absolute favorite movies. The star line up is fantastic, the special effects are awesome, and the action is down right incredible! We both like this one so much that we decided to both write separate pages on it... The movie starts quickly and rarely slows down from there. Even the "slow" parts are some of my favorites- like when A.J. and Grace come to terms with each other and their relationship as they face the reality that A.J. might not be coming back. My favorite scenes include all of the scenes where the asteroids are hitting the cities (opening scenes are best). Also the discussions with the "government" people when Harry presents the demands of his crew- especially the taxes part. I know I can talk and talk...but lets just skip to some of the trailers for now, then we'll outline the plot. Enjoy the trailer!

Plot: Asteroids begin to shower the earth and bring mass destruction to cites. As the authorities begin to investigate they discover an asteroid the size of Texas headed for a collision course with earth. If it hits everything will be destroyed...even bacteria will expire in the aftermath. A team of scientists decide the best path is to split the asteroid in half by drilling deep into it and detonating a nuclear bomb in it. But who could drill so deep on such an asteroid? Enter Harry Stamper and his team of off-shore drillers. Can the rag-tag team of Harry's race into space, drill and detonate a bomb and save the earth??? I love this movie but I don't want to spoil it too much for you...
