Apocalypse Movies
We've compiled many of our favorite apocalypse movies. With so many to choose from, it's hard to select a favorite, but I do rank at least 3 as my all time favorite end of the world movies. We are not saying the world is coming to an end, but these movies do make for great entertainment and they sure do put some great visualization as to what might happen.
I'm very excited about the new
2012 movie
coming out on November 13, 2009. Since watching the trailer back in April 2009, I've been counting the days until its release. I will be one of the first ones in line for a good seat on opening day. You'll hear about it from me on that day after I've watched the movie. I don't know if it will make its way up to one of my favorites, so let's wait and see.
Here are my 3 favorites:
Armageddon
- A giant asteroid again? Makes for a great action flick...don't you think?
Independence Day
- Hey why not? The world could come to end by ET. ;-)
Mad Max - world after dooms day. Much props to Mel Gibson, he was the man back then.
I'm sure Curt will chime in and add his three favorites.
Cheers!
Jason
Well, of course I will "chime in". Now, many people have said that I can be a bit long winded...and I don't argue that much at all...I can talk a lot!!!
The truth is I have many favorite apocalypse movies and I could spend weeks talking away about them. From the earth ending events like we see in Armageddon to the natural disasters like we see in Dante's Peak or the aftermath movies like Mad Max, 28 Days Later, or I Am Legend we can see a variety of ideas, thoughts, fears and predictions about how life will come to an end or survive after the great event.
Rather than talk and talk I think I would rather list the movies we will be reviewing and I'll clue you in to my favorites in the reviews. (in no particular order...just what comes to mind...this list WILL grow!)
Apocalypse movies:

: End of the world event when an asteroid threatens to hit the earth.

There are several more apocalypse movies that I am sure we will be talking about... especially 2012...We can't wait!!!
